**ASFP was established in 1975 in recognition of the need to bring together manufacturers, contractors and passive fire protection testing/certification bodies to encourage, develop and give advice on essential standards for passive fire protection.
The ASFP serves – and represents – the needs of its members and the broader passive fire protection industry by raising standards and skills through training, testing, certification and the quality of installation and maintenance.
Ultimately, the trade association aims to advance knowledge and advice on all aspects of “integrated” fire protection, to provide unbiased technical support and advice, to lead regulatory and behavioral change as a independent authority and to improve skills and quality through training.
