Spirit Airlines issues ground stop due to ‘computer issues’ affecting website – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio
MIRAMAR, Fla. — Technology issues affecting the Spirit Airlines website and “other systems” forced a ground shutdown Monday afternoon, the company confirmed.

In a statement, the Miramar, Fla.-based airline called the unspecified issues “temporary” but confirmed some flights had been canceled or delayed.
“Our airport operations are working and we are working to restore website functionality,” Spirit officials said. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused.”

In a Facebook post, the airline offered customers the following options depending on how the outage affects them:
- If your flight has been cancelled, you have the option of receiving a refund, booking credit or being rebooked on another Spirit flight.
- If a Spirit flight is unavailable today or tomorrow, the airline will seek other options, including other airlines and hotel accommodations if necessary.
- If your flight has been delayed for more than two hours, you can be rebooked on another Spirit flight or receive a booking credit or refund if you do not wish to fly.
